Celebrating the success of Robotic Surgery in CGH 2016

Transmedic and Changi General Hospital (CGH) recently celebrated the success of their Robotic Surgery program.

The da Vinci Xi system was commissioned in CGH in December 2014. February 2015 saw the commencement of the Robotic Surgery program by the Urology and the Colorectal departments. In the months following, other disciplines (HPB, General Surgery, ENT) came on board as well. The Urology and Colorectal departments had developed strong clinical plans, and thorough training was conducted for the whole OT team of surgeons, patients’ assistants, nurses and anaesthetists.

St Luke’s Medical Centre’s 500 Robotic Surgeries Milestone

Clinical excellence and innovation—this was the theme of St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City’s (SLMC-GC) celebrations, of having successfully performed over 500 robotic surgeries since the program’s inception in 2010.

March 17th 2016: St Luke’s Global City announced that they have been able to help over 500 surgery patients achieve better clinical outcomes and faster recovery with robotic surgery. “You always have to look into innovation”, stated Dr. Arturo Dela Pena (photo left), the medical director, in his opening speech about St. Luke’s continuous improvement of services geared towards giving patients the best possible care.
