Transmedic and Changi General Hospital (CGH) recently celebrated the success of their Robotic Surgery program.
The da Vinci Xi system was commissioned in CGH in December 2014. February 2015 saw the commencement of the Robotic Surgery program by the Urology and the Colorectal departments. In the months following, other disciplines (HPB, General Surgery, ENT) came on board as well. The Urology and Colorectal departments had developed strong clinical plans, and thorough training was conducted for the whole OT team of surgeons, patients’ assistants, nurses and anaesthetists.
Clinical excellence and innovation—this was the theme of St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City’s (SLMC-GC) celebrations, of having successfully performed over 500 robotic surgeries since the program’s inception in 2010.
